For the Hindsight of Love
I had a huge crush on this girl,
I still have.
She lived far away from me.
Not that chatty or a typical girl.
Has a background so normal
Not so perfect, not so lame!
She liked the sports
Especially, running, trekking
And, sometimes, photography for a change.
She tries, fails, likes a boy,
Thinks, over-thinks, looks for a joy;
Could we get any more info on her?
Well, she is not exactly private kind of person,
But often, sips her coffee in private.
Okay, you caught me;
She, sometimes, is lazy in following rules and regulation.
So modest to acknowledge
That she knows enough about her field.
But she is trying to indulge in the conversation,
Makes a way to a stranger like me
To, maybe, get into her heart.
No, she is not that difficult to talk to
It was the circumstances which were difficult.
Going through the forcible talk was unbearable
And became a burden;
She broke it.
She broke it!
She broke it so hard
That I lost myself in oblivion.
I couldn’t handle even the snippets of that chapter
Which ran for almost one and a half year.
I found out later
That she never exactly left.
She was always there
With an upfront apology,
Open to communication.
Instead, it was me
Who turned the back on her!
We cleared the slate
And the drums start rolling again
The universe has no way to concur
On our relationship.
Perhaps, there was no plan.
Perhaps, I only have to make a design of this something-ship
With the help of her complying stance.
Now, geographically, our distance becomes shorter
But there is a long path I need to cover.
Fret not, my dear reader!
I am writing a story,
Page by page,
Chapter by chapter,
Coincidences, incidents and verses.
She’s already my muse.
Let her character be alive,
Correct my way of knitting this journey.
And, one day, she eventually would turn to me
“I had a huge crush on this boy.”
“I still have.”

It’s been a wonderful month and I must thank all of you who’ve joined me here. Have a great year ahead and of course, I will be writing more.
Here is the video of my 18th poetry in National Poetry Writing Month 2018 challenge. The poem is dedicated and, in fact, a reply to my favourite person’s new endeavour; to say All The Best.
For one & a half minutes, I have done some mischief which is aligning with the poetry theme.
The poem is originally published on my blog:
Do suggest the different ways I can recite my poetry or any act you want me to try (no mimics please). I will do it.

Aren’t you a little whimsical?
Suddenly, bursting out laughing at your line?
The line which may seem perfectly normal
But you know the internal joke you’ve been ‘cooking’!
At least, this time, your head was still,
Looking right into the lenses,
Your eyes were conversing with the audience (me)
And not giving away all the expressions!
The funny thing is that I sometimes do the same,
Pointed out by my brother.
It’s really hard to control the excitement
Whether I am in a play or in a corporate structure!
Or should I say “The Frivolous Lady”?
Your voluptuous voice can make a big difference
Hope that you can speak your heart out daily or weekly!
The 18th poem on the 19th day in the series of NaPoWriMo 2018 challenge. This poem is a direct reply (wishes) someone’s new endeavour!
The song of the day is Us sang by Regina Spektor in the album Soviet Kitsch.

I am a thinking cup
Silent, staring straight with a hoodie
Thoughts, words, memories;
A picture of you
And a cup of coffee
The last dance,
The rain with a singing lady,
A hideous horse rider, a ghost
And the science fiction story;
So don’t pinch me on my back
I might ignore you by mocking,
I’d disappoint you
If you were looking for a perfect answer from me,
I try to connect dots, fixate situations in mind
Contemplate conclusion out of misery,
Oh, do you misjudge me when I smiled at you
There is a whole different world inside me, just expressing;
Because I am always imagining
Right or wrong, what do I care?
I am just a thinking cup!
On the edge of tomorrow
When you will be tormenting all my ideas
I will keep on breaking my nerves
And you would be busy refraining persona
No matter where my soul would be burning
I will attempt to measure this longest distance
You could run, and run forever
Take a nap and continue breaking disturbance
On this age of rain
I dig out the old pages just to preserve souvenir
I see you with my blinking eyes
And wish you were here!
